Volunteer in aged care
Olivet Volunteer Program
Volunteering at Olivet is a chance to bring joy, connection and companionship to older people in our community.
Whether you have an hour a week or a little more to give, your presence can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.
Who Can Volunteer?
You don’t need special skills or experience, just kindness, reliability and a willingness to spend time with others. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds who want to contribute to a caring community.
Ways You Can Make a Difference
We hold two volunteer gatherings each year, giving our volunteers the chance to connect with one another, share experiences and work closely with our Volunteer Coordinator. These sessions help ensure our volunteer team feels supported and that we continue delivering the best care.
You can make a difference in a number of ways:
-
Visiting and talking with residents
-
Reading books including Bible Readings
-
Walking with residents in our sensory garden
-
Providing musical entertainment
-
Playing board games or cards
-
Assisting with word games / quizzes
-
Assisting with Fetes and fairs
-
Assisting with bus outings or driving the bus to the local shopping centre for shopping outings
-
Assisting with the library service such as collecting and distributing books.
