Olive Grove House is Olivet Care’s Centre-based Respite program for aged people living in the community
The program is designed for those who live at home in the community and would like to participate in interesting activities. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for carers to take a break while knowing their loved ones are in a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
Olive Grove House has differing groups over the course of the week to meet each individual’s needs
Who can attend?
- People who are feeling socially isolated, or lonely
- People who are needing a little more care
- People with a diagnosis of dementia or an associated disorder that causes memory loss or confusion
- Clients are accepted from all religious, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, irrespective of gender, disability or capacity to pay fees

I live for coming to this day program, I enjoy every visit, wish I could attend five days a week. I could not fault one thing everyone is wonderful. I cannot believe how much the day program means to me.

Who is eligible?
Olive Grove House is open to people who are frail, older clients aged 65 years and over (or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people) and who are registered with My Aged Care and who have been assessed.

At Olivet Care's day programs, there is something for everyone
Each client who attends Olive Grove House is treated as an individual and helping them to maintain their independence is as important to our staff as is the them.
Our programs are run by skilled and experienced staff and provide group-based activities in a relaxed environment. Staff work with clients and develop activities that promote wellness, reablement, and restorative care approaches.
A variety of activities are offered which are based on those that attend interests. If you don’t want to join you don’t have to. You are free to make choices about the activities you would like to do and whether or not you wish to join.
Day Program Activities
Olivet Day Programs have a wide range of activities which can include:
- craft and creating
- gardening
- exercise and wellbeing
- games and quizzes
- discussions about topical issues
- activities to enhance daily living skills
- armchair travel
- guest speakers
- entertainers
- cultural events and celebration
Operating hours
Olive Grove House operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 4:00pm with flexibility if needed.

Day Program Fees
Olive Grove House can be accessed for as little as $17.00 per day, including a two course hot lunch.
Costs will depend on frequency of attendance and your Home Care Package status.
Transport
We can provide transport within a 10km radius of Olivet (in our wheelchair-equipped minibus, driven by trained carers).
Transport is subject to availability.

Ask a questionThe cost will depend on the funding you are currently receiving. If you have a referral through My Aged Care for Centre Based Respite the cost of the service be $17.00. If you are currently in receipt of a Home Care package, the cost of the service is $135 which is invoiced to your home care package provider. The cost of the meal and transport (where provided) is included in this fee.

Yes, clients are encouraged to bring their walking aids with them at all times. Staff will remind and encourage your mum to bring her walking frame and prompt her to use it throughout the day whilst she is at the day centre.
All meals are cooked on site at Olivet care’s kitchen. Dietary requirements are catered for.
